• 1947, Truman was worried about how easy it is for Stalin to get support from Eastern Europe to gain power
• -12th March 1947, Truman announced he would provide help to countries being threatened by communism

  -Promised them 400 million and sent American soldiers to Greece and turkey

  -Made difference of democracy and communism clear
• After Truman Doctrine

  -Truman gave economic aid to countries hit by war

  -Stalin refused offer for money by Truman, as he felt USA were tryna be more powerful

  -Friendly grand alliance was gone
