• A planet is an object which orbits around another body (the Sun) and has enough gravity to pull itself into a roughly spherical shape.
• Asteroids are small rocky objects orbiting between Mars and Jupiter, they can be as big as mountains but most are only about 10km across
• Comets are made up of ice, dust and gas. They have long tails because when they get close to the sun their ice melts and turns into gas. This makes them glow brightly and gives them a tail pointing away from the sun
• Dwarf planets are large objects that orbit the sun like planets do but aren't quite big enough to clear out other debris in their path so they don't count as full sized planets
• Our Solar System consists of the Sun at the center, eight planets that orbit the sun, natural satellites orbiting the planets, dwarf planets orbiting the sun (including Pluto, Ceres), asteroids, and comets
