  • Kranji Reservoir is located in an agricultural area. When it rains, rainwater may mix with nutrients from the nearby farms and flow into the reservoir, reducing its water quality. Farms have set up drains around their farm plots and water treatment ponds to channel and purify the water.
  • Since 2013, the cities Hebei, Beijing, and Tianjin in China have adopted the Air Pollution Prevention and control Action Plan. The city governments have implemented a license plate lottery policy, which limits the number of new vehicles that can be registered and a vehicle restriction rule, which limits the use of private cars to selected days in a week according to the last number of their license plate.
  • From the photograph, I can see that they have low level of health due to poor living conditions and lack of basic services such as clean water and proper sanitation that makes people more susceptible to diseases. Vulnerable to risks of fires and floods. Water such as polluted rivers and contaminated wells may cause cholera and dysentery. Stagnant water in ponds that have mosquitoes may cause malaria. Houses build together over crowding squatter settlements also helps diseases to spread. Examples are covid, TB.
  • The rural population leave their hometowns because of the push and pull factors. Push because of lack of job opportunities and poor educational facilities. Pull because of the better opportunities in the cities. Other then that, pull also because of political stability.
  • From figure 1, I can see a huge crowd in the city. It shows that there is a large population size in the city. I can also see a few 4 to 5 storey buildings. This shows that the city is made up of built-up area as the city is mostly covered by buildings. Other then that, I can also see commercial shops like jewelery stalls, clothing shops, etc... This shows a range of services because people get to buy and entertain themselves.
