• how do pathogens spread?

  the air, contaminated food and water, direct contact.
• how can we stop pathogens spreading?

  good hygiene, kill vectors (organisms that transport pathogens), vaccination, isolation or quarantine
• What are fungi?

  Eukaryotic organisms that can be both unicellular and multicellular
• why are multicellular fungi sometimes bad?


  they have long thread like structures called hyphae that spread through soil which sometimes can spread over plants and even penetrate human skin causing disease. They also produce spores that spread easily and grow into new fungi

  A fungal disease that causes black spots to form on the leaves of plants. Leaves will turn yellow and drop, reducing photosynthesis and slowing growth.

  other organisms like insects that transport protists between different host organisms. vectors DONT get the disease themself
• what causes malaria?

  Disease caused by a parasitic protist carried by mosquitoes from one host to another
• how do mosquitos transmit malaria?

  they feed on a malaria infected animal, sucking out blood and malaria parasites. when a mosquito then feeds on a healthy animal, the parasites are transferred and the protists spread to a new host
• what are the human symptoms of malaria?

  Fever, chills, headache, fatigue, and muscle aches. and even death
• how can we stop the spread of malaria?

  stopping vectors with insecticides. mosquito nets and repellents
