Bandura

• Summary: we learn crime through imitating the behaviour of role models in our lives. This is then reinforced through reward and punishment
• Strength: Bandura takes into account the fact that we are human unlike Skinner
• Strength: Bandura shows that we learn through the experiences of others not just our own
• Strength: Shows the importance of role models when learning deviant behaviour
• Limitations: It is a laboratory experiment which means it is artificial and most likely will not portray what would happen in real life making it not valid
• Limitation: Assumes behaviour is solely a product of learning experiences and doesn't take into account freedom of choice
• Limitation: Not all behaviour is easily imitated, we may not possess the skills to imitate the behaviour
