  • point, line, and plane-are the basic terms in geometry. They are also called the undefined terms.
  • A point is represented by a dot. Points are named using capital letters.
  • Collinear points are points that lie on the same line.
  • Coplanar points are points that lie on the same plane.
  • Intersection is the set of points that is common to both figures. Intersection could be a point, a line, or a plane.
  • Space is the set of all points.
  • A line is represented by a set of infinitely many points with double- ended arrows. Lines are named using any two points on it or using a single lowercase letter.
  • A plane is represented by a flat surface.
  • A postulate is a property or rule that is accepted without proof.
  • A theorem needs to be proven first before it is accepted as a true statement. In proving theorems, postulates may be needed.
  • "Unique" in Geometry means that it exists and it is the only one.
  • Postulate 6 is also known as the Ruler Postulate
