• When using units other than meters, you may have to convert your equation
• most problems given will require you to take a single vector and find what other vectors are added together to produce it, as well as determining the perpendicular components of a single vector (ex: x- and y- factors)
• finding the components (or parts) of the displacement is the inverse of the process followed to find the total displacement.
• Analytical methods of vector addition and subtraction employ geometry and simple trigonometry rather than the ruler and protractor of graphical methods.
