    Developed gradually and is usually encouraged early on because of it's creativity

  • Transactional - Last mode children learn 

    Developed at secondary school age when speech is fully disassociated from writing

    3rd person used for detached tone
    Formal sentence structures and graphological features used to sign post ideas
    Ideas structured chronologically
    Seperate identity from their writing
