  • Community Development is a discipline that studies community action, community service, community work, and other community endeavors, whether geographical or issue-based, with an emphasis on the disadvantaged, impoverished, and marginalized in society.
  • Development Studies is a multidisciplinary field of academic research concerned with understanding development processes and their outcomes at local, national, regional, and global levels.
  • By community, we mean small groups of people smaller than society and nation within the state. Communities in this context have the following types: rural communities (those that are in provinces that include ethnic groups) and urban communities (those that are in cities that include ethnic groups and marginalized socio-economic groups).
