• atom - smallest thing that can still be recognised
• element = contains one type of atom
• compound - mad of two or more elements that are joined together
• mixture - particles dont join together, all different tho
• molecule = same atoms joined together
• C02 = carbon dioxide = 1 carbon 2 oxygen atoms ( numbers)
