Caregiver: helps patients maintain and regain health, manage disease, symptoms, and attain a maximum level of function and independence
Advocate: protects patients' human and legal rights
Educator: explains concepts and facts about health, describes reasons for routine care activities, demonstrates procedures, reinforces learning, and evaluates client's progress
Communicator: identifies client problems and communicates them verbally/writing to other members of the health team
Manager: manages the nursing care of individuals, families, and communities
Change Agent: assists in making modifications in behavior and deals with changes in the health care system
Leader: influences others to work together to accomplish a specific goal
Case Manager: works with a multidisciplinary health care team to measure the effectiveness of the case management plan
