  • fan palm leaves
    wide, flat leaves to absorb more sunlight in order to photosynthesise
  • liana
    vines which grow upwards by wrapping around tree trunks to grow towards the sunlight in the canopy

    they are wide and spread out across the top soil which provides support and helps to anchor the tree
  • drip tip leaves
    funnel shaped with a narrow point at the end which enables them to channel water away from branches and trunks to the ground to prevent water logging/rotting

    strong pointy beaks and bright colourful feathers which enables them to break into seeds and nuts

    longer arms than legs with strong claws and grow mould on their fur which means they can hide from predators and are camoflaged with the forest

    live in the upper canopy and have long limbs and strong tails (they can avoid predators on the ground level by swinging through the canopy)

    one of the planets most brightly coloured animals (warns predators that they can be deadly)

    the process whereby a plant or animal becomes better suited to its environment so its chances or survival are improved
