Population
:
all the
individuals
of one
species
in a particular
area
Community:
All
the
interactions
of all the
living organisms
in a
particular area
A
stable community
is one where all the species and environmental factors are in balance so that population sizes remain fairly constant.
A
population
refers to all the organisms of one species found in a particular area.
Whereas a
community
is all the populations of different organisms living together in a habitat
interspecific
competition - Competition between different species trying to occupy the same niche.
Predator
eats
prey so prey
decreases.
Fewer
prey means there is a
greater competition
between the predators for
resources.
Predator population
decreases
as some cannot eat enough prey.
Fewer predators means prey numbers
increase.
More
prey = more predators.
