• Amylose is a helix shape (it coils into a helix) making it compact for storage
• Amylopectin has 1-4 and 1-6 carbon bonds
• Amylopectin has a large surface area
• Amylopectin has more branches/ends meaning it releases glucose faster (better for respiration)
