• Kingdom of God - central theme of Christ's teaching.
• Flock of Christ - Good Shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep.
• Vineyard of God - Christ is the true vine that gives life and fruitfulness to us.
• Temple of God - Christ as the corner stone ; apostles as the foundation.
• Our Mother - the spotless spouse of the spotless lamb.
• (P) Hidden treasure - the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.
• (P) Leaven Bread - the kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.
• (P) Mustard Seed - kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, though its the smallest of all seeds, when it grows it is the largest of garden plants.
• (P) Fishing Net - kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down a lake and caught many kinds of fish. When full, fishermen pulled it up, sat down and collected good fish but threw away the bad ones.
• The Church represents the coming of the kingdom (the kingdom in process).
• Kingdom Come - indicates that the kingdom is already here, but not yet in its fulfillment in glory.
• Her cause is God.
• Her Head is Christ.
• Her members are those who believe in Christ.
• Her condition is that of the dignity and freedom of the people of God.
• Her law is Christ's new commandment of love and new law of the Spirit.
• Her mission is to be the salt of the earth, light of the world, its salvation.
• Her destiny is the final kingdom of God, brought to perfection at the end of time.
• The Church is the mystical body of Christ.

  1. Physical body of the historical Jesus.
  2. His Eucharistic body.
  3. His mystical body.
• The Holy Spirit - the soul of the Church.
• Soul and body are distinct but inseparable.
