  • Breasts
    • Paired mammary glands lie over the muscles of the anterior chest wall, anterior to the pectoralis major and serratus anterior muscles.
  • Tail of Spence
    • Upper outer quadrant which extends into the axillary area. Most breast tumors occur here.
  • Peau d'orange
    • Resulting from edema, an orange peel appearance of the breast is associated with cancer.
  • Paget's disease
    • Redness, mild scaling, and flaking of the nipple may be seen early in the disease of the nipple and then disappear.
  • Retracted nipple, dimpling, and retracted breast tissue
    • Malignancy
  • Fibroadenomas
    • usually, 1-5 cm, round or oval, mobile, firm, solid, elastic, non-tender, single, or multiple benign masses found in one or both breasts.
  • Milk cysts
    • Sacs filled with milk and infections (mastitis), may turn into an abscess and occur if breastfeeding or recently given birth.
  • Lipomas
    • Collection of fatty tissue that may also appear as a lump.
  • Intraductal papilloma
    • Small growth inside a milk duct of the breast, often near the areola. It is harmless and occurs in women aged 35 to 50.
  • Cancerous Tumors
    • Irregular, firm, hard, not defined masses that may be fixed or mobile.
  • Fibroadenomas
    • Lesions are lobular, ovoid, or round. They are firm, well defined, seldom tender, and usually singular and mobile.
  • Benign Breast Disease
    • Also called fibrocystic breast disease, benign breast disease is marked by round, elastic, defined, tender, and mobile cysts.
