What is
homeostasis?
Homeostasis
is the body's
ability
to
maintain
a
stable internal environment
despite
external changes.
The body has
negative feedback systems
to maintain
homeostasis
The
endocrine
system
regulates
hormones
and
glands
throughout the body.
What is the
pituitary
gland
?
master gland
in the
brain
that
controls
most
hormones
Which
organ
monitors
blood
glucose
concentration
?
Pancreas
What happens if
blood
glucose
concentration
is too
high?
Pancreas’s
releases
insulin
which turns it into
glucose
to use
later
what causes
type 1 diabetes
?
when
pancreas’s
produces
little
or
no insulin
What
causes
type
2 diabetes
?
Person becomes
resistant
to their own
insulin.
This is caused by
obesity
,
poor diet
and
lack
of
exercise.
Negative feedback
is when your body counteracts a change to return the body to
homeostasis
