• P(z < a) is less than
• P(a <z < b) z is in between a and b
• In greater than, if the sign is positive P(z>a) the operation is subtraction
• In greater than, if the sign is negative P(z> -a) the operation is addition
• In less than, if the sign is positive P(z>a) the operation is addition
• In less than, if the sign is negative P(z> -a) the operation is subtraction
