Explain how phospholipids form a cell surface membrane.
hydrophilic parts are attracted to water and hydrophobic parts repel water. a bilayer forms with hydrophobic parts pointing towards each other
explain how the structure of phospholipid molecule contributes to the partial permeability of a cell surface membrane
phospholipids contains a phosphate head which is hydrophilic and 2 fatty acid tails which are hydrophobic. this allows non-polar molecules to pass through and doesn't allow polar molecules to pass through.
