2. As he worshipped Athena and Poseidon, they both came to Attica and claimed patronage.
3. Poseidon gave the city water, but its salt meant it was unusable.
4. Athena gifted an olive tree, and the olive was central to the Greek’s way of life.
5. Cecrops and Zeus, weighed up these points and the city was named after Athena.
