Aeneas

• Aeneas' parents were Anchises and Venus (Aphrodite)
• At the fall of Troy he fled with his father Anchises, wife Creusa and son Ascanius. But in the confusion Creusa got left behind, she later appears to Aeneas as a ghost confirming she’d been killed by Greeks
• On his journey, Aeneas met Dido, the queen of Carthage, Venus sent cupid to make sure Dido would do what ever Aeneas wanted. Jupiter was displeased with how long he took in Carthage and sent him on his way. After finding out that Aeneas left she threw herself of a cliff.
• • Having arrived in Italy Aeneas engaged in a huge war with a local tribe. After winning the war he made peace with King Latinus of Latium and founded a new city called Lavinium. He and his wife Lavinia had a son called Ascanius.
• After Aeneas died, his son took control of Lavinium. Due to the gradual expansion of Lavinium, Ascanius founded a new city called Alba Longa next to it. This city spawned

  the line of kings that culminated in the birth of Romulus and Remus.
