Romulus & Remus

• The grandfather of Romulus and Remus, King Numitor, was overthrown by his brother Amulius.
• Romulus and Remus were the twin sons of Rhea Silvia and Mars.
• The twins were thrown into a river at the order of King Amulius. When they were growing up they were mothered by a she-wolf
• When they came of age, Romulus and Remus took revenge on Amulius and killed him, returning the city of Alba Longa to Numitor.
• Rather than continue to live in Alba Longa, the twins decided to found a new city because Alba Longa had, like Lavinium before it, become overcrowded.
• Romulus and Remus wanted to establish a city together, but they fought and Remus was killed by romulus.
