• Peronei disease:

  • Condition where fibrous scar tissue forms in deeper tissues under the skin of the penis
  • Causes curved, painful erections
  • Can make the penis shorter while erect
  • Not caused by cancer
• Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs):

  • Very common, millions of new infections occur every year in the United States
  • Pass from one person to another through vaginal, oral, and anal sex
  • Caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites
  • Can pass from person to person in blood, semen, or vaginal and other bodily fluids
  • Symptoms include burning or itching in the penis, a drip (discharge) from the penis, pain around the pelvis, sores, bumps or blisters on the penis, anus, or mouth, burning and pain with urine or with bowel movements, and having to go to the bathroom often
• Male infertility:

  • Inability to start a pregnancy with a female partner
• Erectile dysfunction (impotence):

  • Difficulty getting and keeping an erection
  • Usually caused by stress, tiredness, drinking too much alcohol, or side effects of some medicines
  • May be caused by conditions such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol if it happens often
• Testicular cancer:

  • Growth of cells that starts in the testicles
  • Not a common type of cancer, most often occurs between ages 15 and 45
  • First sign is often a bump or lump on a testicle
  • Cancer cells can grow quickly and spread outside the testicle to other parts of the body
  • Highly treatable, even when it spreads
  • Treatments include surgery and chemotherapy
