    Inflation rose
  • Problems
Country in severe debt due to damage from war, and Europe not buying cotton
  • Congressional/Radical Republican Plan - Amendments
Abolishing slavery is only one step in ensuring all men are treated equally. Not only are we enforcing the 13th amendment, but all states will ensure the 14th and 15th amendments will be provided with the basic rights and treated with equality. In addition, all male citizens will be allowed to vote regardless of race.
  • Congressional/Radical Republican Plan - Requirements to Rejoin
All Confederate states will be required to write a new state constitution. All states will also have to ratify the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments.
  • Congressional/Radical Republican Plan - African Americans in the South
Because the African Americans in the South have been enslaved, many do not have the tools to survive in society. We will pass the Freedmen's Bureau Bill to assist newly freed slaves in acquiring land and receiving an education.
  • Congressional/Radical Republican Plan - Harsh or Lenient plan?
In order to maintain control, the South will be split into 5 military districts. These military districts will ensure all new laws and amendments are followed.
  • Presidential Plan - Amendments
It is time to abolish slavery in our nation. All states shall end slavery by ratifying and enforcing the 13th amendment. No one will be forced into slavery or servitude in the United States anymore.
  • Presidential Plan - Requirements to Rejoin
All Confederate states must pledge loyalty to the UNited States in order to rejoin the Union. All Confederate debt from the war will be forgiven as long as the Confederate states agree to follow the Union.
  • Presidential Plan - African Americans in the South
Even though the 13th amendment was passed, Black Codes were used to restrict African Americans for receiving all of their rights. These Black Codes will stop slavery, but prevent slaves from voting using poll taxes (having to pay to vote) and literacy tests (prove you can read before you can vote).
  • Presidential Plan - Harsh or Lenient plan?
We would simple like for the nation to be reunited without hatred towards one another. All Confederate leaders will be pardoned (forgiven). Let out nation be reunited as one. Some may say our plan is too lenient, however i like to think that forgiveness is a great medicine for all.
