    3. Pulley
  • Inclined Family: Inclined Plane
    • A slanted plane or ramp
    • It connects a lower to a higher level
    • It makes work easier by covering more distance but using less force
  • Wedge - 2 inclined planes stuck together to form a sharp end. It is used to split or cut things. Anything that can cut through or pierce through objects.
  • Screw - An inclined plane that is twisted around a pole or a column. They are used to hold things and lower things just like the inclined plane.
  • Lever - Levers are bars that rests on a support called a fulcrum. Levers help lift and move things. It changes the direction of a force. If you push down on one side of the bar. Position of the fulcrum changes, amount of force needed to move an object changes. Farther the fulcrum the easier the level is used.
  • Wheel and Axle - The wheel is the round object while the axle is the rod attached to the middle of wheel. It makes work easier by reducing the amount of force needed to work.
  • Pulley - It is a wheel and axle with a rope in the groove of the wheel. It makes work easier by changing the direction of force needed to do work. It is used to lower or raised objects.
