• hitler did not like the lack of cohesion within the party and introduced a new constitution with Drexler in February 1920. this included the union of germany to form a greater germany, the TOV to be fully scrapped, Blood to be the basis of citizenship, all press/media to be owned by germans, and the introduction of a strong central government
• the new constitution made it easy to recruit members due to its clear values. in august 1920, the DAP became the NSDAP to add socialist into its name as this encouraged the working class to join the nazi's rather than the SPD
