    • Located on the River Indus near Tarbela, about 47 kilometres upstream from Atock
    • Designed to store 11.0 million acre-feet of water and generate 2.1 million kilowatts of electricity
    • Main function is to supply water to the Chashma Jhelum Link Canal and the Taunsa-Panjnad Link Canal
    • Supplies water to the Jinnah, Chashma, Taunsa, Gudu, Sukkur, and Kotri Barrages on the River Indus in winter when flow is low
