Often extrinsic and rewards the performer via praise
example- coach telling a netball player their footwork is correct
Negative feedback
Criticism and may concentrate on poor aspects of performance
example- coach telling a footballer to use laced instead of instep
Intrinsic feedback (kinaesthesis)
Information available to the performer that is internal from the sensory system. It is often continuous in nature and arises from signals from the proprioceptors found in muscles
Extrinsic feedback
From an external source
knowledge of performance
This feedback is about the pattern of movement that has taken place
knowledge of results
This feedback is external and can come from the performer seeing the results of their response or another person, usually a coach or teacher
