  • Positive feedback
    Often extrinsic and rewards the performer via praise
    example- coach telling a netball player their footwork is correct
  • Negative feedback
    Criticism and may concentrate on poor aspects of performance
    example- coach telling a footballer to use laced instead of instep
  • Intrinsic feedback (kinaesthesis)
    Information available to the performer that is internal from the sensory system. It is often continuous in nature and arises from signals from the proprioceptors found in muscles
  • Extrinsic feedback
    From an external source
  • knowledge of performance
    This feedback is about the pattern of movement that has taken place
  • knowledge of results
    This feedback is external and can come from the performer seeing the results of their response or another person, usually a coach or teacher
