• Haploid means having one copy of each chromosome, while diploid means having two copies
• The Central Nervous System (CNS) controls the body and is made up of the brain and spinal cord
• The CNS processes impulses and carries out responses, sending signals through electrical impulses
• The Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) is made up of cranial nerves, spinal roots & branches, and peripheral nerves
• The PNS controls nerves that aren't part of the CNS, sending impulses to the body's effectors
• Sensory neurons create impulses that are passed along to the brain, while motor neurons carry impulses away from the brain to effectors
