Reproduction in humans

• puberty is the period of onset of sexual maturity in humans
• sperms are produced in a pair of testes
• testes are situated outside the abdominal cavity in the scrotal sac or the scrotum
• sperms are then carried by a pair of sperm ducts known as the vas deferens
• penis is the organ that transfers the sperms into the vagina
• the body of the sperm is divided into three parts

  • head
  • middle piece
  • tail
• head -> contains nucleus

  tail -> beats so that the sperm can swim towards the egg
• certain fluids are produced so that they give better mobility to the sperms, they also provide nutrition to the sperms
• mixture of fluid and sperm is known as semen
• oviducts are also known as the fallopian tubes
• female reproductive system consists of

  • a pair of ovaries
  • oviducts
  • uterus
  • cervix
  • vagina
