    The 'underclass' are inadequately socialised and develop a lack of discipline and respect and move to criminality. This is due to over-generous benefits. Without a father figure they 'tend to have poor impulse control', girls are emotionally damaged and get pregnant young

    The broken windows theory suggests that those in well maintained areas feel apart of society and are less likely to commit crime. They suggest tolerating just one broken window sends a message you can get away with crime, so more crimes follow if its left uncorrected.
  • Wilson and Hernnstein
    Argue there is nothing governments can do about the cause of crime. Some families are just 'discordant' and have low intelligence, are unstable and impulsive with no regard for others making them bad at raising children.
