    Subdecks (3)

    Cards (268)

    • Difference between contamination and irradiation?
Contamination: presence of unwanted substances on a surface or in a material. Irradiation: exposure to radiation.
    • When was each subatomic particle and the nucleus discovered and by who?
      -Electron - 1897 - JJ Thompson
      -Nucleus - 1911 - Rutherford
      -Proton - 1920 - Rutherford
      -Neutron - 1932 - James Chadwick
    • Important to remember - What are the typical speeds for walking , running and cycling?
      Walking - 1.5m/s
      Running - 3m/s
      Cycling - 6m/s
    • IN NOTEPAD HOW TO FIND DISTANCE IN VELOCITY TIME GRAPHS
    • The generator effect is when a current is induced in a wire which is experiencing a changing magnetic field while the motor effect is when a current carrying wire's magnetic field interacts with the magnetic field around it, resulting in a force being exerted on it, causing it to move. So basically generator effect is turning movement into current while the motor effect is turning current into movement.
    • Diffraction is where when passing through a gap the waves will enter through the gap and then spread out further than their original state
