    • Anything that is stimulating and rejuvenating for an individual.
    • Refers to all those activities that people choose to do to refresh their bodies and minds and make their leisure time more interesting and enjoyable.

    1. Indoor activities
    2. Outdoor activities
  • Indoor activities - a place designed and equipped for the conduct of sports and leisure-time activities within an enclosed space
    • Billiard, bowling, tennis, basketball
  • Outdoor recreational activities - refers to leisure activities that take place in a natural setting and benefit the body, mind and/or spirit.
    • Camping, trekking, horse riding
  • 2 Classification of Recreational Activities:
    1. Spectator Classification
    2. Participant Classification
  • Spectator - people spend their time watching the event and derive enjoyment from it.
    • Participant Classification people do not gain enjoyment merely by watching, they do so joining the activity.

    1. Prevent from having sedentary lifestyle
    2. Increase energy level
    3. Improve immune system
    4. Promote cardiovascular and muscular fitness
    5. Prevent unwanted diseases
    6. Provide Rest, relax, unwind, feel, revitalize
    7. Help to improve socialization with family members
    8. Release endorphins or “feel good” brain chemicals that can ease depression.
    9. Distract you in a positive way from a cycle of negative thoughts and emotions that contribute to anxiety
    10. Increase positive social interaction.
    11. Boost confidence levels
  • Frequency - it’s how often do the physical activities
  • Intensity - level of intensity (moderate to vigorous physical activity)
  • Time - Length of time that engage in physical activity. World Health Organization recommends at least 60 mins each day.
  • Type - type of physical activity that includes in the training fitness plan.
