• Upper course of River Tees:

  > V-shaped valleys

  > Gorges, rapids and potholes at Low Force
• High Force Waterfall:

  > 20m drop and gorge

  > Hard rock on top of soft rock

  1. Soft rock erodes faster
  2. Creates a plunge pool (by hydraulic action and abrasion) and undercuts
  3. Overhang collapses as it isn’t supported (due to gravity)
  4. Waterfall retreats, overtime creates a gorge
• Middle course:

  > Wider

  > Meanders at Sockburn
• Lower course:

  > Towns- Yarm

  > Wide mudflat

  > Estuary at North Sea
