Longer Sentences

• In French you should use conjunctions to make sentences longer
• mais means but
• et means and
• ou means or
• ou bien means or else
• puis means then
• donc means therefore / so
• ainsi means therefore / so
• ensuite means next / then
• ni ….. ni means neither …. nor
• J'ai un petit job donc je mets de 'argent de côté chaque mois

  I have a part time job therefore I save some money every month
• Les fleurs sont bleues claires et l'herbe est verte

  The flowers are light blue and the grass is green
• Amelie veut être infirmière ou ingénieure

  Amelie wants to be a nurse or engineer
• Remember that ou means or , but où means where - Pay close attention to accents on words
