Cards (8)

  • cells are the most basic living unit that make up organisms.
  • there are 2 types of cells: eukaryotic(multicellular) and prokaryotic(unicellular)
  • all cells have:
    1. Cell membrane
    2. Genetic material
    3. Cytoplasm
  • Prokaryotic cells: cells without a nucleus (no genetic material)

    -Unicellular (single cell)
    -Primitive organisms
    -E.g. bacteria
  • Eukaryotic cells (cells with a nucleus and other membrane enclosed organelles)

    -multicellular (more complex /advanced)
    E.g. animals and plants
  • Microscopic: Small enough to be seen with a microscope.
  • DNA: material found inside living cells that carries the hereditary information
  • Macroscopic: visible to the naked eye
