  -receives and helps the body to respond to stimuli
• Parts: receptor cells(nerve), sensory organs, nerve cells(nuerons), spinal cord, brain, muscle
• Receptor cells

  transmits impulses, electrical signals, to the brain
• Spinal Cord

  cord of nerve tissue that extends from the brain through the spinal cord
• Processes

  -seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, feeling pain/touch and regulating body temperature
• Central Nervous System (CNS)

  brain and spinal cord
• Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)

  nerve cells and sensory organs

  *Connects the central nervous system to the muscle and organs
