• What is a magnet?

  -A magnet is an object that produces a magnetic field
• What is the difference between the interactions of a magnets with a

  Magnetic material and non magnetic material

  A magnetic material will feel a force when it comes into contact with a magnetic field

  A Non magnetic material will not feel a contact when it comes into contact with a magnetic field
• Is magnetism a non contact force or contact?

  -It is a non contact force as it doesnt make contact with the objecct but feels the force of the magnetic field
• Magnets have two poles at each end named?

  -North and south poles
• When Two south poles interact do they repel each other or attract?


  -they repel each other as they exert the same magnetic field which therefore pushes them way
• When two opposing poles interact they?

  Attract each other
• Why are some materials magnetic and some arent?

  -If you think about the electrons as tiny magnets some materials have electron poles that are aligned whereas in a non magnetic material the poles are not aligned

  
• TRUE OR FALSE: The magnetic force between a magnet and a magnetic material will always be an attracting force?

  -TRUE as the magnetic materials poles move to face the magnets poles. e.g If i showcased a south pole the north poles in the magnetic material will face it giving an attraction between the two
