• What do we mean by “Paying Attention”?

  • Conscientious and Conscious listening. 
  • Responding Positively to instructions given.
  • Safekeeping the valuables.
• What benefits do we receive by paying attention to God's instructions?

  1. It shows our fear of the Lord.
  2. It leads to wisdom (Proverbs 19:20)
  3. It assures us an abundant life. (Proverbs 4:22 ; 3:1-2)
  4. It helps us receive favor from God. (Proverbs 8:34-35)
  5. It directs our trust to the Lord. (Proverbs 22:19)
  6. It is so that you may be guided. (Proverbs 6:23)
• How to pay attention to God’s instruction?

  • Accept it and Keep it.
  • Act on it.
  • Value it.
• Avoiding the way of the sloth (sluggard)

  • A sloth’s laziness leads to poverty (Proverbs 6:9-11)
  • A sloth always make excuses (Proverbs 22:13)
  • A sloth has very limited motivation (Proverbs 19:24)
  • A sloth adopts a lifestyle of laziness (Proverbs 26:14)
• Learning from ants.

  • Ants have initiative.
  • Ants have clear goals in mind.
  • Ants prepare for what’s ahead.
• • Work hard from poverty to profit. (Proverbs 14:23 ; 21:5)
  • Work hard for favor and freedom. (Proverbs 12:24)
  • Work hard for life satisfaction. (Proverbs 12:27)
  • Work hard for promotion. (Proverbs 22:29)
• “Pasok sa Isang tenga, labas sa kabilang tenga” - Reffering to how children usually hear the parent  without carefully listening to what the parent actually said.
• “Batugan!” - That’s what you call a lazy person.
• “Kayod Kalabaw” & “Carabao/Kalabaw” - Symbolizes hard work.
