    • Types of Sandwiches:
      • Cold sandwich:
      • Regular cold sandwich: buttered or unbuttered bread
      • Multi-decker: multi-layered with fillings in between. (club sandwich)
      • Cold sandwich: two slices of bread with a spread applied and filled with cold filling like deli meat or egg
      • Pinwheel: fancy cut sandwiches served as appetizers.
    • Wrap sandwiches: fillings are wrapped, similar to a Mexican burrito
    • Tools and utensils for preparing sandwiches:
      • Bread toaster: toasts multiple types of bread products
      • Sandwich spatula: round bladed utensil that is used to apply food spreads, over bread slices.
      • Butter knife: a small knife that is used to apply spreads over bread slices
      • Deli knife: for thick sandwiches, cuts easily through a variety of sandwich ingredients
      • Lettuce knife: plastic serrated edge knife, designed to slice lettuce without causing edges to turn brown
    • Preparing sandwiches is a fundamental skill in modern food service
    • Tea sandwich are small fancy cut sandwiches made from light delicate ingredients and bread that has been trimmed of crust and sliced thinly.
    • Tray is used to hold food in place
    • Strainer is used to separate liquid from solid.
    • Can opener is used to open cans
    • Oven is an equipment that is enclosed in which food is heated by hot air or infrared radiation.
    • Hot sandwich: hot fillings, usually meat but sometimes fish, between two slices of bread.
      Grilled sandwich: the sides are spread with butter causing a brown line because of a special griller.
      Fried sandwich: a piece of bread soaked in egg and milk and then friend in a non-stick pan
