• Projectiles only have a horizontal component of velocity
• Increasing the horizontal velocity has no effect on the time of flight as it depends on the vertical component
• The only force acting on type 1 projectiles is gravity
• If air resistance is considered

  1. Horizontal velocity decreases
  2. Vertical acceleration decreases
  3. So the time of flight increases
