Collection
is an extremely important part of any research because the conclusions of a study are based on what the data reveal.
Quantitative Data
is the data gathered based on measurement or counting.
Qualitative data
is data gathered using a non-standard scale or unequal intervals.
Discrete data
is data gathered that obtain through counting like number of leaves per plant.
Nominal data
is data where objects are placed in discrete categories which cannot be ranked in ascending or descending order.
Interval data
is data collected using a scale with interval but no absolute 0 value like temp in DEGREES CELCIUS.
Ratio data
is data with equal intervals between values and a true zero point, such as height measurements.
Primary data
are information collevted directly from the subjects being studied.
