  • One of the main effects of adrenaline is to increase the heart rate because the heart is beating faster more oxygen and glucose are delivered to to the brain and muscles both oxygen and glucose are needed for aerobic respiration this prepares the body for fight or flight
  • The thyroid gland is found in the base of the neck and releases thyroxine
  • Thyroxine
    • stimulates the bodies basal metabolic rate ( makes chemical reactions take place at a faster rate )
    • plays an important role in the bodys growth and development
  • The leaves of thyroxine is controlled by negative feedback
  • If the level of thyroxine falls events are triggered which causes the level of thyroxirne to increase if the level of thyroxine becomes too higher events are triggered to bring it back down this is called a negative feedback cycle
