  • Direction of fibres: downwards and medially in an oblique fashion
  • Transmits forces from hand to radius, ulna and humerus
  • Tightest in mid-position
  • Oblique cord superiorly and opening distally for vessels to pass
  • Functions:
    Divides forearm into anterior and posterior compartments
    Shock absorption and dissipation
    Attachment site for deep muscles
