  • Corner arc

    A quarter circle, with a radius of 1 meter from each corner flagpost, is drawn inside the field of play
  • The team with the greater number of goals during a game shall be the winner. If no goals are scored, the game is considered a draw. Note: For matches ending in a draw, competition rules may state provisions involving extra time
  • Game start
    The game starts by means of a kickoff
  • The game involves 11 players for each team, one of whom shall be the goalkeeper
  • Goal area
    Two lines are drawn at right angles from the goalpost and extended into the field of play for a diameter of 5.5 meters. These are joined by a line drawn parallel to the goal line
  • Penalty area
    Two lines are drawn at right angles from the goal lines and extended into the field of play for a distance of 16.5 meters. A line is drawn parallel to the goal line
  • International size of the field
    • Length: minimum-100 meters, maximum - 110 meters
    • Width: minimum-64 meters, maximum-75 meters
  • Basic compulsory equipment of a player
    • Jersey or T-shirt
    • Shorts
    • Long socks
    • Shin guards
    • Footwear
  • Kickoff
    A kickoff is a way of starting or restarting play. It occurs at the start of the match, after scoring a goal, at the start of the second half of the match, or at the start of each period of extra time. A score may be made directly from the kickoff. The procedure includes: All players in their own half of the field, opponents of the team taking the kickoff being at least 9.15 meters (10 yards) from the ball until it is in play, the ball being stationary on the center mark, and the referee giving a signal
  • The duration of the game shall be two equal periods of 45 minutes
  • A goal is scored when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line between the goalposts and under the crossbar
