• Magnification is how many times larger the image appears, compared to the actual object.
• Resolution is how much detail you can see the image in.
• Light microscopes use light to from an image of the specimen

• electron microscopes have 2,000,000 times magnification.
• Electron microscopes have better resolution and magnification because they use beams of electrons rather than light waves which are much longer.
