If pressure in the right atrium > right ventricle, valve opens
Vice versa, valve closes (prevents backward flow)
When right ventricle pressure is higher than pulmonary artery pressure, the pulmonary valve opens. This occurs with contraction of the right ventricle.
Cardiac output = Heart rate * Stroke volume
In systemic circulation: Mean arterial pressure = Cardiac output * Total peripheral pressure
