  • (a) Pilot licenses:
    ·       Private pilot license (PPL
    ·       Commercial pilot license (CPL)
    ·       Airline Transport pilot license (ATPL)
    ·       Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL)
    ·       Glider pilot license
    ·       Free balloon pilot license
  • 16 years of age – the minimum age for the application for a student pilot Authorization
  • The applicant must be at least 18 years old to obtain an MPL license.
  • 18 years of age – the minimum age for the application for a CPL (A)
  • 21 years of age – the minimum age for the application for an ATPL (A)
  • 17 years of age – the minimum age for the application for a PPL(H)
  • 18 years of age – the minimum age for the application for a CPL (H)
  • 21 years of age – the minimum age for the application for an ATPL (H)
  • AMT - Aviation maintenance technician
  • 18 years of age – the minimum age for an AMT license and any associated rating 
  • RATINGS
    (a) The following ratings are issued under this subpart:
    (1) Airframe
    (2) Powerplant
    (3) Airframe and Powerplant
  • Practical Experience or through training in an ATO – ways for an application for an AMT license
  • Months required for Practical experience only:
    (1) Airframe rating - 30 months
    (2) Powerplant rating - 30 months
    (3) Airframe and Powerplant ratings - 60 months
  • Months required for Approved Training:
    (1) Airframe rating - 24 months
    (2) Powerplant rating - 24 months
    (3) Airframe and Powerplant ratings - 30 months
  • 5 years – duration of the AMT license
  • 30 days – prior to the expiry of his license a holder of an aircraft mechanic license desiring to renew his license must accomplish and submit the following requirements
  • AMS - Aviation maintenance specialist
  • 18 years of age – the minimum age for an AMS license and any associated rating shall
  • AMS RATINGS
    (a) The following ratings are issued under this subpart:
    (1) Limited Airframe:
    (2) Limited Powerplant:
    (3) Avionics
    (4) Specialized Services
  • Practical Experience or through training in an ATO – ways for an application for an AMS license
  • Experience required for Practical experience only:
    (1) Limited Airframe rating - 30 months
    (2) Limited Powerplant rating - 30 months
    (3) Avionics rating - 36 months
  • Experience required for  Approved Training:
    (1) Limited Airframe rating - 24 months
    (2) Limited Powerplant rating - 24 months
    (3) Avionics rating - 24 months in an ATO, plus 12 months practical work experience
  • 5 years – duration of the AMS license
  • 30 days – prior to the expiry of his license a holder of an AMS license desiring to renew his license must accomplish and submit the following requirements
  • 21 years of age – the minimum age for an Air Traffic Controller license and any associated rating 
  • 21 years of age – the minimum age for a flight operations officer license 
  • SKILL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AMT AIRFRAME RATING
    (1) assembly and rigging
    (2) airframe inspection
    (3) aircraft landing gear systems
  • SKILL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AMT POWERPLANT RATING
    (1) powerplant electrical systems
    (2) lubrication systems

  • ICAO: International Civil Aviation Organization
  • RPA: Remotely Piloted Aircraft
  • PIC: Pilot in Command
  • CPL: Commercial Pilot License
