The Fundamental Laws

Cards (6)

  • Law of Mass Action
According to the law of mass action, the rate of the reaction is proportional to the product of the concentrate of the reactants to the power of its coefficient in a balanced equation.
  • Law of Conservation of Mass
It states that during a chemical reaction, matter is neither created/destroyed. The total mass of the reactants must equal to the total mass of the products
  • Law of Definite Proportion

Also known as Proust’s Law. It states that a chemical compound always contains exactly the same proportion of elements by mass.
  • A German Chemistr, Fritz Haber developed Haber’s Process or Haber-Bosch Process.
  • Carl Bosch is the engineer who developed the large-scale production of Haber’s Process.
  • Haber’s Process is the world’s principal source of fixed Nitrogen and it also enabled the manufacture of fertilizers that increase the crop’s yield.
