There are 2 stages within the Alarm Phase; Shock and Countershock
Shock is the first awareness of the stressor, the body goes into shock and the ability to deal with the stressor falls below normal
Signs of Shock include fainting, decrease in muscle tone, low blood pressure, temp and blood sugar
Countershock occurs when the Sympathetic nervous system activates; releasing adrenaline and cortisol in the bloodstream; the ability to deal with the stressor increases
Sign of Countershock include fight, flight or freeze, increase in muscle tension, breathing, heart rate, blood glucose etc.
